Are You FIRE Ready? Take the Free 10-Question Quiz

Answer 10 questions to get your personal FIRE readiness score. See how you rank on savings rate, investments, debt, and income diversification — plus get actionable advice.

What the ten questions measure

The quiz samples the habits that tend to decide financial-independence outcomes: savings rate, emergency fund, debt management, investment diversification, expense control, goal setting, income diversification, progress toward your FIRE number, lifestyle flexibility, and financial knowledge. One question covers each area, so the breakdown view doubles as a checklist of strengths and blind spots rather than a single opaque number.

How scoring and grades work

Answers are worth 2–10 points each, summing to a 0–100 score mapped to five grades: FIRE Ready (90–100), On Track (70–89), Growing (50–69), Starting (30–49), and Awakening (below 30). Because every category contributes up to 10 points, raising your weakest two or three answers is the fastest route to the next grade — a useful prompt, though only the underlying habits move real finances.

FAQ

What categories does the FIRE Readiness Quiz evaluate?

It evaluates 10 key areas: savings rate, emergency fund, debt management, investment diversification, expense control, goal setting, income diversification, progress toward FIRE, lifestyle flexibility, and financial knowledge.

How are the quiz grades determined?

Based on your score: FIRE Ready (90-100), On Track (70-89), Growing (50-69), Starting (30-49), Awakening (0-29) — five levels.

Can I share my quiz results?

Yes, you can download results as an image using 'Save as Image' or share a link with the 'Share Results' button.

How is the total score computed?

Each of the 10 answers carries a point value between 2 and 10, and the best answer in every category is worth 10 — so the maximum is 100. Your total is simply the sum of the points behind your ten choices.

Can I retake the quiz or share an exact result?

Yes — retake it anytime to track progress. The share link encodes your answers in the URL (the ?a= parameter), so anyone opening it sees the same score, grade, and breakdown you did.

Is the quiz financial advice?

No. It is a self-assessment for reflection, scored from your own answers rather than verified figures. For number-based analysis, the FIRE Calculator and FIRE Financial Report on this site work from your actual income, expenses, and assets.
